Nottingham and Nottinghamshire Behaviour Intensive Community Support (BICS)
Positive Support Group (PSG) has been commissioned by Nottingham and Nottinghamshire ICB to provide a Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) service to Nottingham and Nottinghamshire. The Nottingham and Nottinghamshire Behaviour Intensive Community Support (BICS) project began in September 2021 and currently supports young people (up to the age of 18) who have a diagnosis of intellectual disabilities and/or autism.
Our 5-stage model provides support which focusses on improving quality of life through meaningful and long-term change. Young people are provided with support on one of our intervention pathway: suicide prevention, intensive support, focussed support and consultation support.

The referral criteria for our support can be found below:
- Under the age of 18
- Diagnosis of ASD and/or LD and presenting with Behaviour of Concern (BoC) e.g. self-injurious behaviour, aggression, property damage, suicidal ideation or acts,
- At risk of home placement breakdown
- At risk of exclusion or already excluded from school placement
- At risk of residential admission
- At risk of admission or discharge from a tier 4 specialist unit
- Must be on the Nottingham/Nottinghamshire Dynamic Support Register (DSR)
Referrals are made directly to PSG (referrals@positivesupportgroup.com) following agreement at the DSR by the lead professional supporting a young person.
